Beneath the Peaks is a photographic exploration of life in the Himalayas where snow-covered mountains meet forests, villages, homes and everyday life. Through landscapes, portraits, architecture and quiet moments, the series looks beyond the grandeur of the mountains to discover the people, places and stories that exist beneath them.
The mountains are often photographed from a distance — vast, dramatic and seemingly untouched.
But beneath those peaks is a world of its own.
Children are playing in village courtyards, livestock outside wooden homes, clothes drying in the winter sun, forests surrounding settlements and rooms carrying the traces of everyday life. The mountains aren't simply a backdrop here; they are an inseparable part of how life unfolds.
This series began with an attraction to the Himalayan landscape, but slowly became an exploration of everything that exists within it.
The photographs move between the immense scale of snow-covered peaks and the intimacy of mountain villages — from forests and winding lanes to homes, people and fleeting moments of everyday life.
Together, they form a visual portrait of the Himalayas that looks beyond the postcard view. It is a story about landscape and life, nature and people, the extraordinary and the ordinary existing side by side.
Because the mountains may define the horizon, but life happens beneath them.
