How it works

From idea to delivery.

No project runs identically, but every one moves through the same five stages. Here is what each involves and what you can expect from us at each point.

  1. 01

    Tell us about the project

A call or a message. We want the context — what the work is for, who it is for, where and when it happens, and what you want somebody to feel at the end of it. A fully formed brief is welcome. So is a half-formed thought.

  2. 02

    Concept and planning

We shape the idea into a plan: visual direction, references, shot strategy, locations, crew, equipment, permissions and a schedule that survives contact with a real day.

  3. 03

    Production

The shoot. Photography, filming, or both running together with a crew sized to the job rather than to the invoice.

  4. 04

    Post production

Selection, editing, colour grading, retouching, and sound and film editing where relevant. You see a first cut and have room to respond before anything is locked.

  5. 05

    Delivery

Final assets in the formats you actually need — print, web, social, broadcast — with an archive of the originals held for an agreed period.

Questions we get asked
What kinds of work does Taabeer Studios take on?
Taabeer Studios is a photography and film studio working across weddings, documentary and NGO storytelling, brand and commercial campaigns, corporate and private events, portraits, food, products, architecture and interiors, and short films. If a project spans more than one of those, that is usually a good sign rather than a problem.
Do you take on projects without a finished brief?
Yes, and often. Some projects arrive as a written brief. Others arrive as a problem on a phone call. We get involved at the concept stage — creative direction, scripting and visual language — as readily as at the production stage.
Do you handle both photography and film on the same project?
Yes. Photography and film are planned together from the start so the two teams are not competing for the same moment on the day.
How far in advance should we book?
It depends entirely on the type of work and the season. Weddings and multi-day productions need the most lead time. Send us the dates you are considering and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
Do you travel for projects?
Yes. Travel and accommodation for locations outside the base city are quoted separately and agreed before the project starts.
How long does delivery take?
It varies by scope, and we agree the timeline in writing before production. Event and press selects are turned around quickly; documentary edits and films take longer because they should.
Who owns the final images and films?
Usage rights are set out per project in the agreement. Tell us where the work will run — print, web, social, paid media, broadcast — and we will scope the licence accordingly.

Ready to start a conversation?

A wedding, a campaign, an event, a portrait, a documentary — or something that doesn’t fit neatly into a category. Tell us what you’re making and we’ll tell you honestly whether we’re the right studio for it.
