Bodies in Play is a two-year photographic and film documentation of Para Kabaddi, exploring the relationship between the body, movement and competition. The project looks beyond the spectacle of the game to observe the athletes, their physicality, interactions and the quiet moments that surround the court.

Bodies in Play looks at Para Kabaddi through the physical language of its athletes - the collision of bodies, moments of balance, movement, exhaustion and recovery. Across two years, the project documents both the intensity of competition and the quieter spaces that exist around it.

The photographs move between the court and everything beyond it: preparation, anticipation, camaraderie, fatigue and moments of pause. Rather than presenting the athletes through the lens of limitation, the project observes them as sportspeople—defined by their skill, competitiveness, adaptation and relationship with their bodies.

Over time, the court becomes more than a playing surface. It becomes a space where bodies move differently, adapt instinctively and compete on equal terms. Bodies in Play is ultimately a study of movement, sport and the many ways the human body occupies space.
